Since Common Starlings don’t live in a birdhouse, this design is more focused on the symbolic meaning of common Starling and emotional needs of human consumers. All layers are connected with one type of joinery which is easy to clean, remove pieces, and create customized forms which mimic the starling flock’s movements. Made by hard and dark wood and designed to be a sharp shape, it represents the starling’s aggressive and strong adaptability. By mimicking its natural nesting style, I want to make people feel closer to the nature and more consicous about the surrounding environment.By creating this birdhouse, I want to give the bird a possible home as well as a visually appealing decoration for the yard. Overall, the design urges people to find and celebrate Common Starlings‘ beauty.
